NEXT GENERATION SERVO DRIVES
ENHANCE GLOBAL OEM COMPETITIVENESS WITH NEW HIGHER VOLTAGE RANGE.

INMOCO's launch of a new high voltage version of Pacific Scientifics' PC800 Series provides OEM's with a family of highly competitive, all digital servo drives that are suitable for use anywhere in the world. Rated for 380V to 480V supplies, the newly launched PCE800 complements the existing 120/240V PC800 range, offering users the same unique levels of functionality, quality, innovation and cost effectiveness, all in a significantly smaller package than equivalent conventional servo drives.

High Performing and Versatile
The PCE800 Series, like its sister product, offers a 400 Hz velocity-loop bandwidth - the highest in the industry, which simplifies both drive set-up and tuning. In addition, a patented DRDC (Digital Resolver-to Digital Converter) algorithm provides industry-leading 24 bit positional resolution, ensuring the smoothest low-speed performance in its class and positional accuracy as low as five arc seconds.

Despite its powerful, all-digital servo capabilities, and despite sharing similar functionality, the PC800/PC800E Series is over 40% smaller than equivalent and similarly specified servo drives. This size advantage (the PCE 800 fits in a standard 250mm cabinet) helps to reduce the cost of enclosures and allows more efficient use of production space. These factors are extremely important in a number of major user industries for servo systems, including packaging, electronic assembly, semiconductor manufacturing, printing and materials handling.

Easy To Use
Like all Pacific Scientific drives, the PCE800 can accept either step and direction or analogue commands. Motion profiling is a standard feature and the PCE800's internal profile generator allows pre-set index moves. In addition, with the highest velocity-loop bandwidth in the industry, drive set-up and tuning is simplified even for the most complicated mechanical systems. The advanced tuning facility also provides additional benefits such as allowing the system to "settle" quickly.

Intuitive Software Gives On-line Drive Configuration.
The task of getting PC800/PCE800 systems on line quickly is greatly assisted by the Windows(-based PC800 Tools' software suite. This provides intuitive on-line drive configuration and enables users to make parameter selections or changes with a few clicks of a mouse. The software also includes a powerful digital oscilloscope function that streamlines the start-up of any application by enabling the PC800/PCE800's auto-tuning feature to be combined with the diagnostic graphic representation of the servo's parameters.

Matched Drive Motor Combination Optimises System Performance
The fact that both the PC800/PCE800 have their own feedback loops and support Hall/Encoders or resolver feedback in the same package, gives OEMs a head start in the motor selection process. However, the best way of optimising the performance of both drives is to combine them with Inmoco's rugged and cost effective PacSci range of PMA and S Series brushless servomotors. The advantage here is that the windings of these motors are matched to the drives. This results in improved system performance and also more usable torque (from 0.21Nm to 31.5Nm) for a particular application.

Sercos Connectivity Reduces Wiring Costs, Installation & Set-Up Times.
In line with Pacific Scientific's objective of always offering more value, flexibility and performance, the new PCE800 - and existing PC800 - drives benefit from the recent introduction of SERCOS connectivity. With Its noise-immune fibre-optic cable and ring network topology SERCOS greatly reduces wiring costs, installation and set-up times, and speeds tuning and troubleshooting by supporting a rich set of diagnostic capabilities.
